Bridge and river songs:

The idea of this page is for you to suggest any songs that relate in any way to bridges especially London's crossings or the Thames. There are masses out there some of which are truly scary, some just funny but in this, the first chart, the London ones have been placed top. The songs should be about the Thames or crossings so Millennium by Robbie Williams is clearly out.

2) Misty Morning Albert Bridge. The Pogues. Finest hangover song of all time?

3) Blackfriars Bridge to watch the tide come in. The Men They Couldn't Hang.

4) London Bridge.  Jodi Mitchell (which includes the fantastic lines Coming down on London Bridge Mutton rotting in my fridge.)

5) Bridge over troubled water. Tricky choice of the many versions but in the end Bonnie Tyler won out over Hear'say.

6)  London Bridge. Bread.

7) Bridge of death. Manowar. (Lyrics run: "Dark lord, I summon thee demanding the Sacred right to burn in hell, ride up on hells Hot wind. face one more evil than thou, take My lustful soul, Drink my blood as I drink yours, impale me on The horns of death Cut off my head release all my evil Lucifer is king Praise Satan" ...which are sentiments anyone who has waited overlong for a 53 bus to turn up can relate to.)
